Welcome to Comedy Centerfold, where we feature a Dallas Comedy House performer and get to know him or her a little better by using questions that Playboy centerfolds are usually asked. By day, Jason Hensel is a mild mannered editor. By night, he is a mild mannered comedian at the Dallas Comedy House (DCH) where he improvises in two, very uniquely adventurous troupes: the interactive group .f.a.c.e., and a J.T.S. Brown team, The 1995 Chicago Bulls. Hensel is perhaps most recognizable for his longtime position as the leader of the improv jam at the Dallas Comedy House back in its 2645 Commerce days. He also runs and edits the DCH blog in which this centerfold will be published, so be highly suspicious of him potentially tampering with this paragraph to seem even cooler (which he would never, but have I ever told you how insanely smart and good-looking he is and that he has a mountain named after himself and that he threw a bear into the sky, which is why we have Ursa Major as a constellation?). In short, Jason Hensel is king, and I, Lauren Davis, worship him like a god. You can catch the mighty hero playing with .f.a.c.e. on May 29 and June 27, and with The 1995 Chicago Bulls on June 3, June 10, and June 24.
Hometown? Granbury, Texas. Home of the Pirates.
Guilty Pleasures? Nothing guilty about this, but I tend to be a collector of a lot of stuff. Sure, it may border on hoarder-ism, but really, when the apocalypse comes, you're going to be happy I have all these books, magazines, and music for your entertainment purposes.
Ambitions? To be able to show people how beautiful their lives can be.
Best Concert? I should probably put The Cure in here, since they're my favorite band, but some of the most fun I've ever had shows were at concerts by either Les Savy Fav, The Faint, or Man Man.
Favorite Book? This is a moving target; however, lately I've been telling everyone to read Stoner by John Williams. Stoner is the name of the character, just for the record.
Favorite Movie? It's a tie between Can't Buy Me Love and Amadeus. Though for awhile, I tried to watch Office Space every Sunday night just to get in the right mindset for the workweek.
Favorite TV Show? The Colbert Report when it was on. However, I do my best to not miss a single episode of The Daily Show. I'll also never turn down a chance to watch The Carol Burnett Show, The Honeymooners, All in the Family, or Hee Haw.
Pets? A dog named Patrick Swayze and a cat named Sailor.
Foods I Crave? Queso. Thought I was going to say bacon, didn't you?
People I Admire? People who can truly be themselves without worrying about other people judging them.
Dream Role? To be Gene Hackman in everything.
Favorite Song to Sing? Often, when I'm walking down a hallway, I hum "The Imperial March" from Star Wars.
Good First Date Idea? Start talking to someone online first and build up a rapport that way. Then meet the person out for drinks, and it will feel like it's your sixth date.
