Intern of the Week: Josh Edwards!

Everybody meet Josh Edwards! He's our latest Intern of the Week! Josh is one of those people who is always happy and smiling. He carries a positive energy with him everywhere he goes. Every time I see Josh, I think, "Hmm... is he growing a mustache?" Josh likes to live life on the edge. He is currently taking TWO classes at the same time! (Crazy!) If you see him interning, introduce yourself! He has plenty of smiles and anecdotes to share, and he's great at making new friends. Learn more about Josh by reading this excerpt from his personal diary, which I secretly photocopied before putting the diary back under his pillow.

Q: What do you love most about Dallas Comedy House?

What I love most about DCH is the community. I'm still a newer comic, so I try to perform in as many shows as possible, and after every show I always have people, who sometimes I've never met, or have only talked to a couple times, make it a point to compliment me on the performance (whether I was actually funny or not). There is also a nice bond between interns, both current and past, that always gives a welcoming feeling every time you enter the theater. No matter where you are in your comedy career, or who you talk to, we're all still one big DCH family.

Q: What's your favorite restaurant in Deep Ellum?

There are too many good choices to just pick one, but for the sake of the question I'd say Monkey King Noodle is my favorite. 1) You can never go wrong with ramen, and 2) I found out I get a discount because I work at DCH.

Q: If you were a superhero, what would you want your superpower to be?

If I were a superhero I'd want to have the powers of Dr. Strange, whatever you'd call it, because it's just freaking dope how he can harness energy from other dimensions to do his own bidding. Easily the most OP powers out there.

Q: What's your go-to karaoke song?

My go-to karaoke songs are "Pop" by NSYNC (I like mimicking the beatboxing) and "Fergalicious" by Fergie (I know the entire rap).

Q: Best Halloween costume you ever wore?

In 9th grade I dressed as a red Solo cup for Halloween, and to this day it's the stupidest/best Halloween costume I've worn.

Q: Any upcoming shows you want to plug?

No shows as of now, but catch me at the open mics around town, or stop by the theater on Friday nights while I intern and we can chat about life.
