The firewall at my work blocks doordash.com, which is the website you need to visit for Taco Bell Delivery. I can visit Taco Bell’s website all day long. And this brings me to my first thought when I read about Taco Bell delivery: “They aren’t delivering. Doordash.com is delivering Taco Bell. ” I can’t order taco delivery from the Taco Bell app. So I downloaded the DoorDash app. I can’t order Taco Bell with that either. There is only one Taco Bell delivering in Dallas. The location on North Washington will deliver but not to my work or my house. If I want to test out Taco Bell delivery, I’ll have to drive over to that part of town.
Eh, I’m going imagine the experience and review it for you today.
The actual ordering interface is nice. It’s not as nice as the ordering interface on the Taco Bell app. Speaking of the Taco Bell app, when will we be able to order delivery directly from that? Who knows! You can’t even call Taco Bell and place a delivery order. You must go through DoorDash. DoorDash also delivers Angry Dog. Did you know that? Yeah! So, Taco Bell is now offering delivery in the same way that Angry Dog is offering delivery… and Jake’s Hamburgers… and any place else this third-party carrier is willing to drive to for you. And it’s not free. My first imaginary order cost me one imaginary dollar because of a promotion they are running. (I imagine future orders will cost about five bucks.)
Order about an hour before you want your food. It may not take quite as long as my imaginary order, but it will take much longer than going to get your food yourself.
Lastly, and most importantly, order delivery friendly food. Nachos are not delivery friendly food. Avoid crispy items and items that mix cold and hot ingredients. You should order foods that reheat nicely in the microwave. Opt for Pintos and Cheese, Enchiritos, Quesadillas, Burritos without cold ingredients, etc. Avoid Crunchwraps, Nachos, Mexican Pizzas, Cheesy Gordita Crunches, and never ever get the Grilled Stuft Nacho.
