What kind of shows are featured at the Dallas Comedy House?
DCH hosts improv, sketch, stand-up comedy, storytelling, and variety shows. ONLY comedy shows play at DCH.

What kind of humor should I expect at DCH?
Humor is subjective and comedy is personal. We pride ourselves in offering a variety of programming throughout the week, but every show is different. Most shows have a description about the show along with the ages appropriate to watch the show. If you have questions about a specific show, please call the theater at 214.741.4448 and we can answer your questions about shows. 

What if I want to see a clean comedy show?
Every Saturday, there are all-ages shows from 5-7pm. Any shows labeled as “Safe For Work” or “PG” are considered clean comedy.

Where is DCH located?
DCH is located in Deep Ellum at 3036 Elm Street.

When are you open?
DCH is open seven days a week. Monday, 3:00pm to midnight. Tuesday-Thursday, 3:00pm to 2:00am. Friday and Saturday, 9:00am to 2:00am. Sunday, 9:00am to midnight.

Where can I park?
There are several options for parking in Deep Ellum:

Street parking: Meters are free 7 days a week from 6AM-6PM. Meters are $.50 per hour from 6PM-Midnight 7 nights a week. The meter maids are strict in Deep Ellum, so make sure to always pay the meter to avoid ticketing.

Paid Parking Lots: There are several paid parking lots near DCH. Parking is typically $5 for the night. These lots are monitored and we recommend following the orders of parking signs to avoid tickets or towing.

What is the DCH Training Center?
The DCH Training Center is located under the same roof as our two theaters and podcast room. We offer comedy classes in improv, sketch, stand up, and storytelling. We also offer elective classes throughout the year. For more information on our training center, check out the “classes” tab.

Do you host private events or corporate workshops?

How do I buy tickets/claim my reservation?

Advance Tickets: DCH offers advance tickets for all of our shows that are not free. Buying advance tickets usually saves you a couple of bucks, but more importantly, it guarantees you a seat, as our ticketing system will never over sell advance tickets. We have electronic check in for advance tickets, so no need to print out your voucher. Let’s save a tree!

Tickets at the Door: If you’d like to chance it, go for it. Live life on the edge! But we recommend arrive 30 minutes prior if you’re a chancer so you can snag what tickets are left at the door.

What time should I arrive for a show?

We typically begin seating 30 minutes before the show begins. However, Dallas Comedy House is now open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Arrive early to eat or hang out on the patio. If you want to eat and drink during the show, you can do so, too!

Do you accept credit cards?
DCH accepts all major credit cards for admission to shows, class tuition, and at our bar.

What ages are admitted?
DCH Theater is 18 and up before 11PM and 21 and up after 11PM. Because of this, our late-night shows will only be available to people over the age of 21. All ages are permitted to our restaurant and our all-ages shows.

Can I photograph / videotape / audiotape the show?
Absolutely NO video or audio recording is permitted without explicit permission from both the theater manager and performers. Still photography is allowed without flash.

Do you serve food or alcohol?
YES! We do! We have a full bar (beer/liquor/wine).  CLICK HERE to see some of our speciality drinks! 

Can I Bring in Outside Food or Drink?
No outside food or drinks are allowed inside the building or on our patio. A staff member will ask you to discard your food/drink if you bring it into the theater. CLICK HERE to see our menu! 

Do you have a happy hour?
We’re a comedy theater, so we’re all pretty happy around here. But we do have Happy Hour specials every day, 4-7pm.

What about the neighborhood? 
Dallas Comedy House has called Deep Ellum home for seven years. There's plenty to do all day and night in Deep Ellum



Can I perform stand-up at the DCH Theatre?
Submission window: Wednesday (12:00 AM) to Friday (11:59 PM). Fill out the form in this link:

  • An email will be sent out by Saturday afternoon with a list of confirmed performers.

  • Due to the high volume of submissions, we will not be able to accommodate all comedians every week.

  • One submission per comic, please. Multiple submissions will not improve you chances of getting on.

  • Please double check your email upon submission, typos will result in you not receiving the list.

  • Open Mic is every Tuesday. Doors @ 7:30 PM. Show starts at 8 PM.

  • The hosts reserve the right to close the submission early should we reach capacity.

  • The hosts reserve the right to deny any submission. Your submission does not guarantee you a spot.

  • DCH does not have any requirements when it comes to your material, however the hosts reserve the right to cut your time short should you convey any hate speech or content use to belittle or insult any race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or group of people. Any misconduct towards staff, audience, fellow performers, or the building itself could result in you being asked to leave.

Can I perform improv at the DCH Theatre?
There is a free improv jam open to all levels of experience every Tuesday at 8pm. The majority of the cast members of our improv troupes are current/former students/faculty members of the DCH Training Center. DCH Theatre improv performers are trained in our long form Improvisation Training Center. Students are eligible to audition for various house teams after a certain level of improv has been completed. Auditions are held on an as-needed basis. Completion of our improv program does not guarantee placement on a team.

How do I put up my show at the DCH Theatre?
